Food Coloring

matsumotos

Every once in a while, we want to highlight food. Since food is a huge part of culture, and culture is what we’re interested in, it makes sense that we should write about food. Even though it would be hard to call this specific one “food,” we figured it’s a good place to start. If you ever have a chance to go to Oahu, try your hardest to get to the North Shore. It’s way more layed-back and not as much of a tourist spot as the rest of the island. Once you get to Hale’iwa head down the main strip and find Matsumoto’s. It was originally a grocery store for surfers and hippies, that became famous for it’s shave ice (not “shaved”) with their home made syrup on top. If you don’t mind waiting in line for about 30 minutes, then it’s well worth the wait. You may think you’ve had shave ice, but nothing gets close to Matsumoto’s.

YBW en Francais!

urban-addict
This past week we sent a big order of shirts to a t-shirt boutique in the southern part of France. We’ve really enjoyed working with the people over at Urban Addict. They are a very new shop with tons of potential, located in Hyères, France. We’re super excited to be working with them. If you’re ever in the area, be sure to check them out.

Over the last week or so we’ve had some pretty sweet blog love from all over the place. I didn’t know it until we got started with all this, but there’s tons t-shirt and clothing blogs. Apparently we did something right this time around, because the write up’s were a lot more complementary. Our favorite is Grafitee, a french T-blog. Mainly because it’s in a different language so it sounds cooler. Check out the others as well: Hide Your Arms & T-Shirt Around.

CONFIDE & YBW

confide1
Confide was YBW’s first band endorsement. We found them through some friends of ours and quickly made our way to their next show. We were super impressed by not only the show that they put on, but also the incredible gents they are. They are some incredibly talented musicians, with tons of cool stuff in their immediate future. And they made me think very seriously about getting a tattoo across my chest. Even if it’s not your scene, anyone who appreciates good music will recognize their ability. Their new album releases August 25th, so go get it! Check out their site for their new music video and more info on the band.
