Food Coloring

Every once in a while, we want to highlight food. Since food is a huge part of culture, and culture is what we’re interested in, it makes sense that we should write about food. Even though it would be hard to call this specific one “food,” we figured it’s a good place to start. If you ever have a chance to go to Oahu, try your hardest to get to the North Shore. It’s way more layed-back and not as much of a tourist spot as the rest of the island. Once you get to Hale’iwa head down the main strip and find Matsumoto’s. It was originally a grocery store for surfers and hippies, that became famous for it’s shave ice (not “shaved”) with their home made syrup on top. If you don’t mind waiting in line for about 30 minutes, then it’s well worth the wait. You may think you’ve had shave ice, but nothing gets close to Matsumoto’s.
